Frequently-asked questions

What do I get by signing up for Azbukum training?
  1. High-quality materials that help you improve your Serbian teaching.
  2. A discount of 30% on all Azbukum textbooks for the duration of your training.
  3. A discount of 10% on webinar registration for two years following successful completion of your training program.
Are the trainings online, or do I have to go to Azbukum?

Everything is done online and there’s no need to come to Azbukum. You must attend a review session at an agreed-upon time once a week. In the meantime you have unlimited access to pre-recorded video lectures, as well as homework assignments that must be turned in to the program mentors at least 48 hours before the scheduled review session.

What if the timing of the review session does not work with my schedule?

The review session schedule is agreed to during the first group meeting, and you have the option to choose between two different review session times. We try to make sure that these times accommodate all participants.

What subjects are covered in the training?

A list of subjects to be covered by each training will be e-mailed to you before you confirm your registration.

How can I get a discount on training?

There are two ways to get a discount on training. The first is to apply within three days of the announcement of the start of a promotional campaign in the news section on our website or on our social media. The second is by having already successfully completed Azbukum Basic Instructor Training, after which you will automatically receive a 10% discount on other trainings and webinars.

Besides payment, is there anything else I need to include with my training registration?

Yes, you also need to send us your biography and a letter explaining your motivation for registering for the training program.

Is there a registration deadline for trainings?

Of course! As there is a limited number of spaces in each training, when the number of anticipated spaces fill up registration will close. Priority is given during registration to those who have contacted Azbukum asking to be placed on the waitlist prior to the start of the promotional campaign. Azbukum will contact these individuals before training registration promotions are publicly announced.

Can I parcitipate in training if I am an individual teaching Serbian outside of Serbia who is not of Serbian heritage?

Of course. All teachers of Serbian as a foreign/non-native/heritage language can attend instructor training and improve their instructional capabilities.

I don’t have experience teaching Serbian as a foreign language. Can I sign up for this training?

Absolutely! You are welcome to take Azbukum training even if you don’t have experience.  A basic knowledge of Serbian grammar and linguistic terms is necessary so that you can more easily follow the material and to be prepared to complete the assignments.

Working with Mentors and Sharing Experiences

This is the perfect place to empower teachers, whether before their first appearance on stage or before entering the next class with renewed enthusiasm. Getting to know colleagues, exchanging opinions, resolving uncertainties, and generating brilliant ideas all add a special touch to the overall work.
