Together with Azbukum
First of all, I would like to express my great pleasure at the opportunity we have had to cooperate with Azbukum. After the first meeting with you, I was impressed by your professionalism, enthusiasm and positive energy. You met our requirements on all levels: we held Zoom meetings adapted to our time zone, you answered every one of our questions (of which there were many), training for teachers, and meeting our needs when it came to AOS.
I have been teaching Serbian abroad since 1971. With immense pleasure and great joy, I have been cooperating with Azbukum for over five years for mutual benefit and success. From the moment I learned about Azbukum’s programs, my classes became a song. Their teaching materials, lessons on the online platform, focus courses and numerous additional materials are a real treasure for me and an inexhaustible source for improving the teaching of the Serbian language abroad. The classes are easy and the students enjoy coming to classes despite their numerous obligations in English schools.
The collaboration with the Azbukum Center, which has been going on for the fourth school year, is of utmost importance for the Saint Sava Church School in London, because every week we work with children for whom Serbian is a second language, and therefore the methodology and material provided by Azbukum is very important for our students and teachers. Books, practice materials, and an online platform ensure that teachers are effective in their work, and that parents can practice with their children throughout the week. This is especially important for the youngest children (5-7 years old) for whom there has not been a suitable book until now.
Since 2019, we have been collaborating with Azbukum and have launched courses for students aged 12 to 17. The courses are recognised in the UK, and Azbukum’s certificate of proficiency helps students with university admission or employment. Azbukum’s approach to learning Serbian as a second language best suits the needs of our students, not all of whom are native speakers. The course content, teaching materials and AOS online platform of exceptional quality were designed by an excellent team of Azbukum professionals, and the Azbukum training for our teachers was equally high-quality. Cooperation with Azbukum has enabled us to standardize and elevate the teaching of Serbian in the UK to the highest level.
Working with the Azbukum team has been a truly positive experience for me, a mother of three and a teacher who teaches Serbian at a school in San Diego, both in the classroom and remotely. I would like to express my great gratitude to the entire Azbukum team for their expertise and deep understanding of all the needs and questions of us from the diaspora. The materials that Azbukum offers are carefully tailored to the ages of children. It is impressive how they have managed to create materials that are tailored to the interests and needs of teenagers. The teenage years often bring challenges in maintaining interest in learning, but Azbukum has really managed to create fun and engaging materials that encourage young people to learn with interesting content.
